The 2024 Public Library Annual Report (PLAR) will open on January 13, 2024. The PLAR is due March 21, 2024

Electronic Resources

Change from counting collection & usage to counting purchasing/expenditures.

Categories:

  • Electronic Books

  • Research Databases
  • Online Learning platforms

For each, asked if you purchase them as a library/system (AE or administrative entity), via the state (we don’t have this), and then via collective (CLiC, Marmot, Front Range, etc)

E-materials circulation:

  • E-book circulation
  • E-serial circulation
  • E-audio circulation
  • E-video circulation

This is simpler than what we collected last year, especially for e-audio and e-video

Public service hours

Back to libraries doing the annual calculations- our “solution” made it a lot more complicated. Keeping it at the branch level.

Updated definitions

  • Electronic content expenditures – removed language around diskettes and CD-ROMs
  • Other physical materials expenditures – adds language about tangible digital media & portable electronic materials
  • Total reference transactions – clarified what is a reference transaction
  • Total number of asynchronous program presentations – clarified what programming is counted
  • Total views of asynchronous program presentations within 30 days – clarifies what is counted
